I am in the middle of rolling out the Trinity. I am about 5-6 weeks in to One-on-Ones, but have a new direct coming on board in probably 2 weeks. What is the guidance on this? Do I just start the process with the new direct, and he/she will be on a 5-6 week lag of implementation? Or do I hit the reset button on my department? Or something in the middle?

I can't come up with any good reason to put the relationships with your current directs "on-hold" as you build the new teammate up to par.  I'd recommend continue with what you have.  When the new direct arrives, start them in at step-one.  I believe that subject is specifically addressed in the podcast that discusses the first 90 days with a new hire.  Forgive me, I don't remember which specific podcast that was...

Start your new hire on their own timetable. Send them a note about O3s and let them know about feedback.

You do not treat every person in the department the same...so do not delay deploying the trinity just because a new person comes on board.  Your directs will talk to one another. It is likely that the new person will pick up the vibe of your trinity deployment from peers in addition to what you communicate.

Thanks for confirming what I pretty much thought was the correct approach.  LAR12 if you are able to remember which cast that was, I'd appreciate the info.

DRD282 - Here is the podcast that I found.  It is geared towards a new manager's 1st 90 days and the ONLY new initiative is O3s.

FOUND IT!!!!

It's in the 500th cast and one of my favorites.  It addresses what to cover with new hires on day 1.  It's long, but absolutely worth it.

Thanks Lar,

I just listened to the first 20 minutes or so yesterday while waiting to board a flight, and I think this is just what I need. Thanks for finding that.
