Hi all,

reading last Manager Tools newsletter, Dani quote Mark writting "we’re not vanilla".

What does it mean?

adjective: vanilla; adjective: plain vanilla

  1. 1.

having no special or extra features; ordinary or standard.
"choosing plain vanilla technology wherever you can will save you money"

He is essentially saying that the advice they offer is not plain, common or ordinary.

I've never heard this expression in my life, but I've read it twice now at MT - once in a newsletter, and I think once in a podcast...

To add to Jib88's explanation:
If you're 'vanilla', you are (usually) aiming to please the masses.
