Do you have any advice how to compassionately let an employee go?
She has only been on board for a week. She is a very slow learner. It is a struggle for her to pick up the most basic tasks/responsibilities. My team and I don't have the time or energy to baby her along.
She cried twice during our first O3. This was during her 10 minutes. A delicate flower.
I've never had to let an employee go.
I did my best with a behavioral interview in the MT style. Apparently, I need much more practcice.
Thank you in advance for making me smarter.

"I'm sorry Suzie. Things just aren't working out."
Do you plan to escort her at that moment or let her work to the end of the week?
I would treat this like a band-aid and just get it done with quickly while not mentioning her emotional state or challenge with understanding the requirements.
This is of course assuming that you have tried to work with her to develop her if possible or to find the correct fit for her.
You, or someone, hired her for a reason. Was it that you needed a body or did you see a fit here?
If she is as emotional as you have said, there may be something going on that is contributing to it and she may not lack understanding but rather may be distracted by an outside force.
Just a thought.

Thanks Mac
I appreciate the input.
