I did my first O3 today. I think it went very well, it went for 1 hour instead of 30 min. but that is ok since it was our first one and my direct had a lot to say. I have three tomorrow and one on Thursday. I have taken my time, I first started listening to the podcast last Oct. and three weeks ago I scheduled the meetings for this week. I used your sample email and that was well received and I have also copied your O3 forms and using them to take my notes on. Three out of five of my directs have indicated they are very excited about the O3's, the other two have not said anything other than they pick their time for the O3.
I have a team leader that sits next to my cube, he saw that i was doing an O3 and after the meeting he asked if I was going to do them every week. He thought that was a good idea and is going to check into MT and O3's.
Maybe we will start an MT infection and the O3's will spread around the company.

You're a Week Ahead of Me
Congratulations on grasping the thorn and finding out it's a flower! I'm a week behind you on this having set the times for next weeks first meeting with my directs this morning. It's great to hear another vote of confidence.
As an aside, I have a very vocal direct that has attracted a lot of attention from all the 'wrong' places. I briefed my new boss last week that I was starting regular meetings with all my people (completely unrelated to the latest directs episode, I've been planning this for months). He was enthusiastically commending me for it while at the same time brushing off the suggestion that he might like to look in to starting the same thing. Ho hum!
