Mark,

You mentioned a book on asian business trends at the Chicago conference, something along the lines of "the dragon and the elephant." There appear to be a couple similarly titled books, who is the author of the one you recommended?

Jeff...

I was not at the conference, and while I'm sure Mark will reply to your question, I can say that I've read the one by Robyn Meredith ("The Elephant and the Dragon: The Rise of India and China and What It Means for All of Us"). Good read, particularly if you find yourself working with or in those regions. And it looks like an updated version is due out in June.

Half of my team is in China, so I've read a few different books on the topic. If you want a couple more recommendations, just shout.

I would add a couple.

Mr. China by Clissold - This is a great narrative on the country by a British businessman man who spent years in the country.

China Shakes The World by Jim Kynge - This won the FT/Goldman Sachs Business Book of The Year Award in 2006 and was written by an ex-FT reporter.

In Spite of The Gods by Edward Luce - This book is about India. It won our award for New Perpectives in 2007 and was voted on of the best by BusinessWeek as well.
