Came across this a few months back. I thought others may be interested. http://www.austhink.com/professional/ The company offers software that assists the process, but the free tutorials are worth a look as a stand alone (link toward the bottom of the page). It helped me refine my reasoning processes and I am now using the principles to support and structure my arguments.

Agreed - I have used Rationale for a bit over a year now. You can do a lot of the mapping part using a mind mapping program, but it is the structure that the whole process gives to your thought processes and decision making that is so valuable.

-and the tutorials are great, as is the blog Rationale Thoughts at http://rtnl.wordpress.com/

-and it's Australian :D

I've sent the URL to the people who maintain our internal training/eLearning web site for the external web resources section (list of recommended external sites that employees might find useful), I pointed them to Manager Tools months ago. I'll tell them about that blog now.

Thanks
