I studied the cast about getting ready for my annual review. I'm in great shape because my company is moving the review up one month. So instead of the end of December, its now the end of November. I heard panic tones in conversations with my peers. They are no where close to being ready.

Should I submit hard copies of all the reports and major documents I created over the last year? Or will a list be enough?

Do I hold off until the day of my review?

End of October, give your boss the information you've gathered. I think how much you give him depends on how much you've got. If it's more than a 3/4 inch pile, you may be over-doing it.

I didn't have a job description either, so I wrote one. It's not that my company doesn't use job descriptions, my job is a new one for them. They were pressed to hire me, so I guess it didn't get written. As usual, my job has expanded exponentially since I was hired two years ago. Should I give him that as well?

Sure, just identify it as your work to help him understand that you're doing it to help him, as opposed to saying this IS the job desc, which (probably) technically only HR can do/bles.
