Part 1 of our guidance on the manager playbook.
The best managers don't just lead their teams, they communicate in a way that shows their directs how they are leading. They publicly share their playbook.
As we gain managerial experience, the numbers and types of experiences we've faced have grown. That's what experience means. The first time we face something, it's always a little intimidating. We don't know what to do, and we're probably secretly afraid that our folks are going to learn that we don't know what to do. But we've all seen the more senior manager or executive who calmly says, in a tough situation, "Okay, folks, no need to worry, this is a standard "crisis", nothing to worry about. I've done this before, and it's pretty straightforward..." These leaders have a playbook, and one of the pages in their playbook is about this situation.
