We do not do any performance reviews in my Company and I was wondering how and if I can approach my manager to talk about my performance and my career. Any suggestions how I should handle this?
Thanks in advance

Have you tried the straightforward approach?
Boss, can you set aside some time for me this week? I'd really like the opportunity to discuss my performance, my career with our company, and what I need to do make your job easier.
I would suggest that since performance reviews are not a standard for your company, you ask for regular feedback instead. In each thing that you do, look at it carefully to see where you could improve your work or your process. Take whatever information you DO have with you and try to have specific questions (or answers) ready.
It's hard to say much more than that - I don't know anything about your boss, your job, or your company's culture, so this advice could be terribly off base.
See what you catch!

You can still prepare as if you were having one. List your accomplishments, your goals, etc (as per the 'casts). Track your own assessment of how well you're meeting your job description.
It's a great exercise, regardless.
