The accomplishment that I am adding to my resume is:

-Reduced days in account receivable by 8.0% to 32.2 days in FY 13.

I am one of three directors responsible for reducing AR.  I am applying for an internal promotion and they will likely be involved in the interview process.  What is the best way to share the accomplishment with my peers on my resume?  Thanks.

Mark

You should list what you did, not the results alone. "Implemented/designed/programmed (specific process or procedure) that helped lower AR time by 8% to 32.2 days." You are thereby acknowledging your action was not the only thing that brought in the lowered time, and also saying what you actually did to accomplish it.

Thanks for the input.  I work in a medical group and am responsible for the professional billing (billing insurance and patients for services).  I am responsible for the first 1/3 of the process.  Here is the update accomplishment along with the role.
______________________________________________________________________
Responsible for front-end revenue cycle for 1,250 physicians and manage 73 staff, including registration, eligibility, provider enrollment, claims, and payment posting areas.
• Reduced days in account receivable 8.0% to 32.2 days FY 13 by focusing on process improvement, automation, and training.
• Reduced registration denial rate by 49% from FY 11 to FY 13 by using eligibility and workflow redesign.
• Lead the ACO Beneficiary Data Opt-Out workgroup. Flagged 27,205 ACO beneficiaries. Implemented ACO Opt-out workflows and training for reception and registration in three month.
• Reduced claim denial rate from 2.82% (FY11) to 1.48% (FY13) by reducing duplicate and submission errors.
• Lead Surgery Center conversion to billing reducing percent AR greater than 90 days from 38% to 12.2%.

The first bullet is my concern.  AR days is the main benchmark for professional billing revenue cycle.  However, I am only responsible for one third of the work.  The other directors are responsible for coding/charge entry and insurance and self-pay follow up.  The overall measure is good and the improvement did occur but I can't say what part of the improvement I am responsible for.

Thanks for any input.

maybe:
• Reduced AR 8% to 32.2 days (FY13) through team effort to improve processes, automation, and training.
or:
• Member of team that reduced AR 8% to 32.2 days (FY13) through process improvement, automation, and training.
or:
• Reduced AR 8% to 32.2 days (FY13) as member of 3 person team to improve processes, automation, and training.

Side note: Be sure to be consistent in how you list fiscal years, etc... use either FY 13 or FY13.
I highly recommend the resume workbook if you don't already have it.
