Recruiting for volunteer organisations

I plan to recruit team members from within our volunteer organisation which offers a large number of courses which we run in several countries around the world.

  1. What is the best way to recruit team members from our vast pool of students who finish these courses, (media courses, in my case).
  2. How do I write a letter to send to each school leader when establishing intial contact?

are you recruiting them to run a class? support the organization financially? Other?
That's going to change how you approach things.

I am recruiting to build a media team at our operating location.

Not sure what a "media team" is, but I don't think it matters much.
You need to sell what is in it for them.  Volunteers do things because they want to and they get something more than money from it.  So tell them what they're getting and why they need to start doing this instead of what they already do.

Thank you, I'll keep that in mind when I'm communicating with them. BTW my media team is responsible for photography, brochures, graphic design and video, in house and internationally, for our organisation.
