One on One's for the summer during temp promotion

I have been doing O3's for about a year now with my directs, and have had great strides with a my staff that is considerably older then I am.  Next month my boss is going on vacation for 2 months and I will be acting for him.  During the time I'm acting would it be appropriate to have one on one's with his directs.  It would be to short time to gain the true benefits of it, and also may make some ackward relationships with my peers after he gets back. 

I think there could be some benefit to having them, but not sure if it would out weigh the cons.
