Hi everyone,

i am struggeling with One-on-Ones and am hoping for some ideas here. Let me first explain what the situation is like:

I am working for a large consulting company and run IT projects that are usually staffed from both client and consulting folks. I have always had one-on-one with the consulting guys, but listening to your podcasts makes me feel i am doing it wrong. Should i request and force my client directs to do one-on-ones as well. I spend a lot of time on career coaching in the one-on-one and i dont think my ideas and experiences apply much to the client folks.

Also there are consulting guys working for client leads, should i then offer them one-on-ones as well or should i ask the leads to do one-on-ones?

I am really keen to formalize one-on-ones rather than continuing with just doing it with the keen folks who like the idea anyway.

All help is much appreciated and i am happy to provide more info if necessary,

Have you listened to the Project Manager One on One's podcast?  (http://www.manager-tools.com/2009/05/project-manager-one-ones-part-1
