First off my apologies is there is a cast for this or if this is not the right forum for this question. I'm an avid MT subscriber, and MT is directly responsible for doubling my salary.

I have decided to take my career to the next level, and go for my dream job of working for a top 10 consulting firm- I have about 10 years of internal consulting experience working for a fortune 500 company. I would travel throughout the world and work with the operations dept internally and help make them efficient. It was a dream job. And it recently got dismantled . I landed very softly and got a huge raise to boot- but I have always wanted to work for a large consulting firm (think McKinsey, Deloitte, BCG or Accenture).

I have applied in the past and I have never made it past the original software screening (with a MT resume). So my question:

Does anyone have any advice in working for a top 10 consulting firm?

I have updated my linked in profile with connections of recruiters from most of the firms I’m looking at- but instead of just blindly messaging them (which I find awkward).

I just moved to Nashville and I have no real network here to speak of. And since there is no real top consulting presence here- In person networking would not be super beneficial.

I appreciate any thoughts, or pointing me in the right direction.

Carpe Diem!
