Hello everyone,

The company that I work for has placed me in charge of recruiting candidates for our Operations Associates program, which is targeted at people who can speak Chinese and who have 0-3 years of work experience. The position is based in Beijing, as am I and most of our staff. I've been posting the job to the career centers at many different universities, but we haven't gotten many applications yet. What can I do to get qualifies candidates?

Here is all of the info about the position, for those curious: www.vericant.com/hiring/ops-associate

I'm not sure if you are aware that many schools have resume books for their recent grads.  You can usually email their career center to get access to them.  I get these for schools we've had a good track record for their grads, or schools with a strong reputation in the areas i hire for.  I'll email the students that have promising resumes directly and setup a phone interview if they are interested in learning more.  If they aren't interested, I'll ask them if they have any friends that are qualified and might be interested.  It doesn't hurt to stay in touch any of the more promising candidates that turn you down.  They may have their situation change or think of a friend that might be a good match.  I'm an engineering manager, not a recruiter but I want the best candidates I can get on our team. Our recruiting team does a good job, but I have a more vested interested in getting great engineers on our team.
I assume you've also talked with some of your more successful employees currently doing the job to see if they know anyone that would be a good candidate.  We pay a referal fee to employees that refer successful candidates and we've had a lot of great hires from those referrals.
