External Interviews and Recruiters

I enjoyed the external interviews podcast.  In the past, I often don't consider positions that are outside of my area of expertise and the podcast opened my mind.  I got the point - say yes to interviews.

Where I struggle with is working with recruiters.  I am not actively looking, but a recruiter did an excellent job outlining an exciting opportunity and I said that I was interested.  As we have discussed the first opportunity, he has brought up two additional opportunities.  Do you continue to say yes to each opportunity?  Right now, I have the three job descriptions.  In general, I like my job so I would need a really good opportunity for me to move on.   Thanks.

Mark

The default response to "Would you be interested in looking at...." is always "yes." After you've looked at it, you can always say that it's not right for you. You could also look at it and decide it's your dream job, which you would have missed if you didn't check it out.

Tom's right.
One caveat:  don't be the proverbial "kid in a candy store."  If every job sounds exciting, maybe you need to narrow your career goals.
