Mike and Mark,
Do you have a possible late or early 2008 indication of the European conference? You've mentioned that it may be at Schiphol. I am due to start a development plan for a direct to take more existing sales management responsibilities as I grow another business.
My rough plan is to outline the 'trinity', provide the podcasts and expose him to the website with the aim of having him attend the European conference next year.
I will also be suggesting a peer of mine also attends. (Further spreading the MT way in our company).
It would be great to get an initial idea of timing, even roughly.
Cheers guys.

We don't. We have gotten some good insight about scheduling around holidays and the like, and we'd be happy to hear what you might add relating to general holiday calendars for the UK.
I THINK earlier rather than later, and I THINK that means we will decide soon. Our September conference has been open a week and has 55 attendees already, so we THINK we intend 4 conferences next year, 1 in Europe, at least 2 in the US, and 1 in Asia/Southeast Asia... though we may go for 5 next year.

Regarding general holiday calendars for the UK (excluding Christmas and Easter):
August is generally the holiday month, with all the schools off etc.
Most schools are also off ('half-term') for two weeks in May/June (either last two weeks May or last one and first week of June - schools vary which they chose), with many parents taking time off with their children :D and those working in academia having two weeks of marking exams
There will also be one week off for half-term in either 2nd or 3rd week of February.
Half-term isnt a good time for a conference - many parents will take time off, leaving those who cant/dont want to (or dont have children) to hold the fort.

Hello everybody,
I tried to figure out our German school and public holidays, but as we have 16 federal states and mostly every state has its own holidays I gave up organizing this.
NICE work Mary and Cédric. THANKS.
With best regards

Marcus,
I loved living in Germany, where the bus arrived at the trainstation with enough time for you to stamp your ticket and get on the train.
I looked to see if the UK has a similar timetable and got this:
The dates for school terms and holidays are decided by the local authority or the governing body of a school, or by the school itself for independent schools. Term dates and holidays for community and voluntary controlled schools are set by the local authority. For most schools, the current school year is divided into three terms. However, some local authorities have introduced a year with six terms, each of similar length (known as the 'Standard School Year'). For other types of publicly-funded schools, including: foundation schools voluntary aided schools, academies, city technology colleges, city colleges for the technology of the arts, the dates are set by the governing body.
Who knew that Monty Python was in charge of our education system?

I will.

In my point of view, you should consider a more 'central' position in Europe:
Germany? Switzerland? Austria?
Easier (and cheaper) to reach from many European countries.

P.S. I apologize with all the UK people ... it's not personal :)

In The Netherlands we too have three (!) regions, in a small country with only 16 mln people.

Hi Guys,
Really hope this happens. I have just completed a development plan for a direct to take over day-to-day and week-to-week UK sales management. It includes exposure to the MT tools and it culminates in the January-ish (fingers crossed) European Effective Manager Conference.
...so the pressure is on! :D
