Hi Manager/Career Tools team,
Your guidance around always have a solid network in place instead of trying to cobble one together when you need it has really hit home this week.
Sadly, a couple of good friends were suddenly released from their positions and they’re scrambling to build a network that might be helpful in finding new opportunities (These folks were government workers as well and I’m sure they lost access to their contacts when their computer network privileges were revoked).
Of course it’s too late to share some of your networking podcasts with these folks – although I’ve made them aware of your interviewing content – but I’m certainly re-listening to those casts and taking steps to freshen up my network now when things are going well instead of when I’m out on the street.
Guys, thanks for the great advice!
