Sixty-eight per cent said they had fallen into the role by chance.

And 40% admitted they had not wanted the responsibility of managing people at all. Very few have formal qualifications.

Ya know - that really irritates me.  I love managing people and I have some pretty decent qualifications AND I would bend over backwards to get into another people-managing role (rather than leaving it to chance.)  

Life sure ain't fair.  Bah humbug!
