Part 2 of our guidance on following your boss to a new job.

It is somewhat common for professionals to follow their boss to a new role. This happens sometimes with personal assistants, sometimes with senior leaders who will take their number two, and sometimes with mentors who will take their mentee. Usually the more senior person gets a new job, often having been headhunted for it and as part of the package they ask for the other person to be offered a job too. Sometimes it's formal and there is written confirmation that the more junior person is being offered a job, and sometimes it's a "gentlemen's agreement".

However it happens, if you are the person following there are some dangers for you that you should be aware of, and some things you can do to make sure that the change is successful.
