Our guidance on keeping track of information during your job search - and why it is important.

If we want to know what gets results, we have to track the actions we take in order to try to get to that result. A scientist who is trying to find the gene that causes one attribute, must track what he has tried, what seems to get him a step forward, and what takes him a step back. We wouldn't expect him to rely on his memory, and so it is with the job search. Tracking your actions gives you data which allows you to make better decisions and gets you closer to the desired response.
