Our guidance on having an equal number of favors given and received.

The currency of human relationship is favors. You can't pay cash for someone to be your friend. You could buy them a house, a car, and all the toys they want, but they still wouldn't necessarily be your friend. Doing favors (listening when they need to vent, picking them up when their car is in the shop, covering when they need to be out of a meeting), is the way you give value to another human being and how you build value into the relationship.
