Hi Julia, would you mind doing this as a Google Doc or something that would let me look at it in a "paged" format? I find doing this in the forum post difficult.

I saved it as a Google Doc, but can't decrease the bullets indent.  This exact resume is 1-page only in Word, so please disregard that aspect.

Hi Julia,

Overall I think the content is excellent. You've followed the advice from CT very, very well. If I were hiring a QA / Automation person I would definately follow-up with a phone screen.

I think you can clean it up a little by removing some of the repeated accomplishments from one job to the next.

Demonstrated work flexibility when working remotely by, utilizing chat tools, over-communicating, & making all deadlines.

I would remove this portion. You also have it listed under two different positions. The comma after 'by' is incorrect. You could use a colon or nothing at all.

  • Provided leadership by interviewing potential technical employees.

Recommend rewording to say, "Conducted technical interviews for QA candidates. Provided feedback in interview wrap-up meetings". Replace QA with whatever fits. You also have this under two positions.

  • Backed up Automation Lead by coaching junior testers in QA methodology and C#.

You repeate that in the 'responsibilities' paragraph and 'accomplishments' bulleted list.

Overall I think you use too many ampersands. Those are usually in logos or business names. My goal would be zero ampersands. For example,

Review requirements, planned project scope, led meetings, scheduled resources, & communicated with stakeholders. Supervised 2 local & 5-13 offshore QA resources. Reviewed test plans & test cases. Executed manual & automation tests, & triaged defects. Administered Quality Center implementation. Trained junior testers.

I would rework this to say

Reviewed requirements, set project scope, led meetings, scheduled resources, and communicated with stakeholders. Supervised 7-15 local and offshore QA staff. Reviewed test plans and test cases. Executed manual and automation tests and triaged identified defects. Administered Quality center implementation. Trained junior testers.

  • Managed local & offshore team (7-15 testers) to deliver outstanding business results by anticipating & removing obstacles.

This piece is repeated from the section above it.

At one point you use offshore and at another you use off-shore. Standardize on one.

Sometimes you use an acronym I don't recognize (e.g., QTP, BHTV). Will the people reading this know these?

Good luck!
