Thank you so much for the effort you put into the Career Tools and Manager Tools podcasts. Two years ago, I was unemployed for 5 months. Although my resume was decent, I lacked the other various skills to effectively find a new job (writing cover letters, following up, interviewing well, etc.) I finally found a job despite these things, but not before enduring quite a bit of stress at home. Now, skip ahead to my most recent job search, which began only a couple months ago. My goal was to find a job closer to home, eliminating the two hours of commuting I did each day. I discovered your podcasts and binge-listened to them over the course of several weeks. I used the Map of the Universe to listen to as many podcasts as possible about cover letters, the interview process, answering questions, following up, being enthusiastic, and closing the interview. The result? I found a very desirable job opening less than a mile from my house, applied, and received an offer. I started the job this week, and instead of commuting, I have been spending an extra two hours each day enjoying quality time with my wife and baby daughter. Money is tight at the moment, so I haven't been able to repay you by purchasing the full Manager Tools license, but I wanted to at least tell you how much of a difference you've made in my life. My family and I are grateful to have our sanity back, and we owe a lot of it to you. Although I am not a paying customer (yet... I hope to have the money soon), you've earned a "word of mouth" advocate for life.
