podcast for new direct

What podcast is best to share with new directs so they learn what a oneonone is all about?

I would have them listen to at least the One on One cast in "Manager Tools Basics" (http://www.manager-tools.com/manager-tools-basics).

I would meet with them myself and explain it. That way you build a relationship instead of sending them to do a research project.
