Feedback roll-out meeting

Hi,
BLUF - What are the main takeaways I want my directs to have from the Feedback announcement meeting.
It is advised that the manager announce the feedback model to his directs before starting to use it (manager is new to team). And Mark & Mike suggest using the MT feedback slides for this meeting.
Fair enough. My question is, what is the purpose of this meeting?
I don't mean in a general sense – I mean what are the key points/takeaways that I want the directs to have at the end of the meeting?
Thanks for any advice!
Peter

Awareness of New Manager Behavior
Peter-
The purpose of the briefing is to increase the effectiveness of feedback by decreasing resistance through awareness of the model, its purpose and its process.
You want them to know you're going to start doing feedback, what it is (the four steps), why you're doing it (better performance) and allow questions, all of which lower resistance and increase acceptance.
Thanks Mike, that's
Thanks Mike, that's perfect.
One other thought occurs to me–I assume I should not say that I will be starting with only "top performers". And should I say that it will initially be only positive?
I'll let Mike answer
;-)
Doh! Sorry about that. It's
Doh!
Sorry about that.
It's not really fair having a Mike & Mark though. Can I call you Bruce from now on? ;-)
Sure Paul
And yes, you're right - we don't publicize that.
Which doc to share with directs?
When we're talking to our directs about the Feedback model, do we use the document here: http://www.manager-tools.com/podcasts/Manager_Tools_Feedback_Model.pdf
Is that the one you mean? Or use the full deck from the podcast? That one contains information about top performers first, only positive first, etc. I assume from Mark's comment above that we don't want to share all that with the directs... Is that a correct assumption?
(Hoping to roll mine out on Friday and just making sure I have my "ducks in a row" per se right now...)
Thanks!!!
