Communications Plan
In our January 18, 2006 Managerial Communications podcast, we made reference to a sample Communications Plan. This is one of the tools effective communicators use to plan their communications for the year. Don’t communicate on accident, plan and immediately become more effective in your communications.

Hi, I’m participating in managerial training at my employeer. Your podcasts are greatly enhancing on what I learn there, and I can listen to them in the car. Perfect! I’ll recommend my friends and managers to listen to your work!
First time I was upset that drive to work was not long enough…

Hi Mark,
Is it possible to have the Communication Plan on word format?
It will make save 10 hours on word.

Thank you

Although the question wasn’t directed at me, I do know the answer … unfortunately, we wouldn’t be able to do that without about 10 hours of work on Word.
Sorry!

Mike

There are tools available to transfer documents from word to PDF and other way. Search for them. They are cheap.

Nilesh and others-
We’d only ask that you be respectful of the inherent copyrights. Copying and pasting into your own word document without attribution seems to us to fly in the face of the the spirit of our site being free yet containing powerful work product.
Thanks folks,
Mark

Mike and Mark,
Have been listening for quite a while and I am a BIG fan!!! Thanks for everything.
Regarding communications plans…..do you have any tips or additonal samples I might look at. I am responsible for a geographically challenged Sales Team and am looking to get any additional input I can prior to publishing my communications plan for FY 2007.
Thanks
Rich

Rich-
Thanks for the kind words! Glad you’re getting value out of the shows.
Not sure what you mean by tips or additional samples. The sample we posted is as robust a comm plan as I have ever seen. If you do much more than that, you won’t have time for much else! I helped write this one, and watched it in use. It works…

After asking the question I came up with a few different looks for the document. I ended up with a 6 months per 8 1/2×11 page that allowed me to identify everthing that needed to be communicated by the day.
I am curious to see the response I get from the team….I will keep you posted….
Thanks again
Rich
PS. Great show on Time Management you guys continue to put into words the things I have been half way getting right for years!!!

Have recently become a big fan of your podcasts; and like the pragmatic and vocational approach you take.
I tried to download the communication plan pdf and found it was corrupt though. Anyway I can get a usable version, please.
Thanks and keep up the great work!
