10 years experience in a field that is 5 years old

I have seen this too.  I was reviewing some job descriptions and I saw one for a mid/junior level job.  I went back to HR and told them I know both people (e.g. in the world) that would fit this job description and they are not going to take this job.

This is endemic in the tech world

…because recruiters, unless tightly managed, decorate job descriptions with things they think are helpful. I've seriously seen ads that ask for "ten years' experience in Windows 7"

Is there difference between Job Adveritsement & Job Description

In the past I have written a job description that has qualifications, skills and other related categories.  I have used that description on job boards, etc.  Is the job advertisement different or one in the same?
