Enhanced Podcast Feed Available to Premium Members
Enhanced Podcast Feed
Starting with the July 2008 shows, we've made an enhanced version of the podcast feed available.
The Manager Tools Enhanced podcast includes chapter marks (so you can easily skip to portions of the podcast you're specifically interested in) and photos of the premium content slides timed to the audio content. When you play an enhanced podcast in iTunes, a "Chapters" menu option appears to assist you in navigating through the podcast.

Similarly, when listening to the podcast on your iPod, chapter marks (and slides, if you have an iPhone or Video iPod) are available.

On an iPhone or Video iPod, premium content slides are available as well!

Premium Content Documents Feed
Although the Premium Content Documents has existed for some time, we thought it might be useful to remind you. We don't like having to do the "right-click, Save as .." a hundred times or so to download the Premium documents to our hard drive either! So, to resolve this, we created a couple of special RSS feeds for Premium Content. Add these feeds to iTunes and you'll have all the Premium documents right there in iTunes waiting for you immediately after the documents are published. It doesn't get any easier than that!

Unfortunately, the enhanced podcast feed is only useful if you are using an iPod. At some point, we can hope that we get the same capabilities in MP3 files for the rest of you.
Both the feeds above, like the content itself, are username and password protected. If you're not a Premium member, these feeds aren't for you ;-).
We hope you find these feeds useful!

Anise - unsubscribing from the Members
Anise - unsubscribing from the Members Only Feed will not delete your Members Only Feed history.
I recently made this change and only now subscribe to the Enhanced version, and my Members Only history is still there and accessible.

Hi,
This is perhaps a technical ITUNES question - that maybe someone can help me with.
In ITUNES I have "Manager Tools Members Only" and "Manager Tools Enhanced Podcast".
I like the history of the "Manager Tools Members Only" and am not ready to delete it, however I guess I should now be subscribed to the "Manager Tools Enhanced Podcast".
Can I unsubscribe from "Manager Tools Members Only" podcasts - but still keep my history?
Thank-you in advance,
ANISE
All, From my experience, you do not
All,
From my experience, you do not need to view the enhanced content on an iPod. You can see it via iTunes.
1) From the View menu in iTunes, select "Show Artwork". The artwork will show up in the left hand corner of iTunes.
2) Double-click the artwork to expand the artwork in another window.
This should allow you to view the presentation.
This also shows up when you use Front Row, but it's a bit annoying since the slide flips back-and-forth as a screen saver.

No, the enhanced feed will include both the weekly podcasts, as well as the monthly/extra casts (although in many cases, the monthly may not be in the "ehanced" format). One caveat - the enhanced feed only includes casts from July 2008 forward. If you want to easily download all the historical casts, you'll need to use the members-only feed.

Hi Guys
Recently discovered your podcasts and am loving every minute of them (and the forums too).
Love the new enhanced feature - one quick question (and sorry if this has been answered elsewhere) - with enhanced podcast feed, do I still need to subscribe to Members-only feed as well? I understand the difference about content (i.e. with enhanced you get the pdf slides, chapter splits etc) but I want to make sure I get all the podcasts without having to subscribe to two separate feeds.
Thanks
JD

M&M Great initiative thanks! There are a few podcasts coming out with this feature now and I think it's great.
I do have a problem though - the images (of the slides) are rendered using only about 2/3 the dimension of the iPod screen and so are too small to read the bullet point text. I have a 4th gen iPod (video iPod). It would be alright if the slide image stretched all the way across the screen.
Does anyone know how this can be changed? Is anyone else experiencing the same thing?
I am in the market for an iPhone so the problem will eventually go away, however I'm sure I'm not the only one...
Very nice. Thanks

OK, I have figured it out. I had listened to the John Lucth Podcast, which does not have chapters.
Once I started the My Space podcast, I saw the Chapters option.

I am a Premium member. I have added the new link to my ITunes Podast List and can listen to the podcasts themselves.
What I cannot see is the Chapters menu option that is in the Blog Post above. The Chapters menu option is on the Menu toolbar between Window and Help options.
thanks

Are you a premium member subscriber? If you aren't, you won't see the new format. And if yes, did you add the new link to iTunes to download the new podcast format?

Jim,
I added the latest members-only cast to Enhanced Premium Members Podcast Feed. I hope that helps and eliminates the need for two feeds.

Renewing my premium membership is going
Renewing my premium membership is going to be one of the first things I do to break in my new Corp Credit card. I had to turn in my old one when I left my role as IT Manager and get a new one as a Director. Thanks again Manager Tools for providing guidance - helping me achieve my goals and influence others.
Thanks, that's great! Any chance we can

Jim - it's been a while since I looked, but IIRC the "regular members" feed is for anyone that signs up for an account here; whereas the "premium feeds" are exactly that - for folks that have separately purchased the premium aspects. The enhancements are utilizing content that is paid for, vs. the regular stuff.

I'd love to have the enhanced podcasts
I'd love to have the enhanced podcasts in the regular members only feed. MT is the one podcast I have setup to 'not allow auto delete'. I'm not really keen on unsubscribing to the old feed and dealing with a new one.

You guys are awesome!
I am sorry that I haven't listened in a while, but I started the interviewing series this morning (I know you guys can tell). Anyways, it is awesome. And as I thought, I am kicking myself for all my prior interviews.
Anyways, great job on the new feed. I can't wait to try it out. You guys are ahead of the curve :)
