I would certainly be interested in the meet up. If for no other reason than putting a face to the voices on the podcast.
January 18th, 2008 at 8:06 pm
Mark & Mike, looking forward to meeting you both in London (I moved a trip so I can be there, thanks for the heads-up via email to watch the blog!). And congrats on achieving 20,000 members and your continued (and I must add, humbled) success. A very refreshing approach. Keep it up.
January 18th, 2008 at 9:15 pm
Please count me in! I have been a quiet listner but I’d like to take the opportunity.
January 18th, 2008 at 9:39 pm
You guys can’t stop amazing us
Count me in! I definitely want to meet you in person. I’m a young professional and have been following your casts for almost a year now. The lessons I learn are priceless.
The 20,000 landmark, clearly shows people’s interest in the content and value that you provide. I hope a lot of these people will join in premium memberships. The value you get as a premium user is outstanding.
See you in London.

Mark & Mike, it would fantastic to meet you both in London. Count me in! I’m a great fan and I owe you guys a big thank you. I’ve changed my job, increased my income and greatly improved relationships with many of my colleagues.
January 19th, 2008 at 9:33 am
Mark & Mike, I am a fairly new listener and an America running a division of my company in the UK for the last 2 years. I would love to attend. In just the short time I have been listening to the podcast I have been finding the tools to be quite useful (I want to say effective, but I have not had enough time to determine that yet).
It would also be interesting to hear how my British counterparts apply the tools you teach. Each time I listen to your show the cultural difference is apparent to me, but most of what you teach seems to work ok in the UK as well.
January 19th, 2008 at 9:49 am
Brilliant!!!
Cannot wait to see you guys… The casts have been an incredible help
Us Brits are really grateful

Hi Mike and Mark
Please count me in for the evening in London!
It will be a great privilege to meet you both. I can echo the comments of many of the other bloggers here - congratulations and thanks for offering us consistently practical and effective material.
Happy to help with logistics if I can.

That makes 10! Thanks folks for being willing to get together.
FYI - Mike (and Wendii) predicted 10…I said 30. When I crowed a bit to Mike earlier today, he said, hey, I win either way: either I’m right or we have a great big crowd.
Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Dear Mark, Mike, Wendii and other brilliant people,
I also would like to come to London from Germany. At the moment I am not sure
about whether I can do that.
I will definitely inform Wendii on that ASAP.
Sincerely hope – this will work out!
Best wishes

January 22nd, 2008 at 7:02 am
Hi Guys,
Mark, I’m afraid you’ll have to subtract two from the count.
Family commitments mean I can’t drive down (I live over 100 miles away from London), and my friend doesn’t have a car. The scheduling casts you did explained that family comes first, so I guess we’ll have to wait for your next trip to Europe
But Mark, even without us, you still only need 1 more to get to 20.
Cheers,
Taimoor
January 22nd, 2008 at 9:24 am
Hi Guys,
In order to insure the bet against any last-minute withdrawals, I too will be coming. I guess that makes 20 again (and I’ve contacted my friends who also listen, hopefully some of them will be able to make it).
I look forward to meeting you both.
Regards,
Kieren.

I will be in London - alas a week late!! Would have been great to say I came all the way to London from North Carolina for my first “Meet Up”. Have a great time!!

January 23rd, 2008 at 8:09 pm
I have been holding off confirming my strong desire to attend on 2 Feb in case other UK listeners - who may not be in my happy situation of having a place at next week’s Amsterdam conference - wanted the spaces. But if the notional target is 30 people and we are stuck at 22 then I’LL BE AT PIZZA EXPRESS! I look forward to meeting everybody, and particularly those working with the public sector. It will be great if this Meet Up can prompt us to provide ongoing mutual support in acting as MT Managers.

Hi Mark and Mike,
I only discovered Manager Tools a few weeks ago, but I’ve been devouring them as fast as I can since then - I think I’ve managed to get through around 50 so far.
It would be fantastic to meet you both, so please count me in for the meet.

You know what, I’ve been umming and ahhing about this because I’m not a line manager. However, I am an avid fan of your work (love the premium content, esp. interview series) and the opportunity of meeting you and fellow MTers in this country is just too good to pass up. Count me in…
(and David - I’m public sector local government so look forward to comparing notes).

It´s almost worth flying to London just for pizza, but unfortunately I can´t make it - as you say, family first - even before pizza.

What is the deadline for confirming?
Thanks

I have had something come up which precludes me from making it to the meet up. I am really dissapointed because I was really looking forwards to meeting everyone. I did not want to wait until the last minute and not show so I am posting to un-RSVP. I hope I get another chance to meet you guys in the future.

Mike, Mark,
Sincere apologies - I’m going to drop out at the last moment. I really apologise for the inconvenience of the late notice.
I hope we get to meet before too long.

Hi Mike, Mark and fellow managers,
It was great to meet you all (although I couldn’t say hello to all). I was happy I could say how much I like your cast in person and also meeting with people sharing the same feeling.

Mark & Mike,
Thank you for taking the time to meet with us all last night, and for providing us with food, drink & great company.
I had a truly enjoyable evening and it was a pleasure to meet up with so many nice people.
Can’t wait for the next London meetup (thanks Wendii for offering to organise), and am really excited about the chance of a UK MT conference soon - even if it does mean going to Heathrow!
Have a safe journey home.

I’d like to join all the above in thanking you for your hospitality last night. It was great to meet you, and also to talk with managers who have really been implementing your recommendations. It gives me the confidence to try to make more radical changes in my workplace.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your time in England, and that you manage to catch up on some sleep sometime!
Thanks again,
Matt
