20,000 Members
January 17th, 2008As of this post, we have just achieved 20,000 Manager Tools members.
As Mike and I prepare to host the first international Effective Manager Conference, we’re humbled that our community has grown so large. We’re honored to be among a group of professionals working on improving themselves, their teams, and their organizations.
It’s a privilege to serve ALL of you.

Congratulations! And thanks!
I was trying to put that number in perspective and I could only think that that’s more students than the campus of the university I went to (ITESM-MTY). That’s a lot of enrolled “students”. I wish I had teachers like you back then.
I’m sure you have at least 20,000 grateful will-be managers and seasoned managers. I know I’m very grateful for your advice. Plus I get some laughs along the way from listening to you two when you go on tangents and soapboxes.

Gentlemen,
The quality of your work and your ethical approach attracts us like flies. The real question mark: why are so many people not on board yet?
Time…only a matter of time.

Wow, that was fast from 15,000 to 20,000. I hope the trend continues.
And you guys deserve great credit for what you’re doing. I’m still astounded that you offer the information here for free. I guess about 20,000 people agree.
Congratulations Mark & Mike. You guys deserve nothing but the best.

Congratulations Mark and Mike! Could this be the “tipping point”, when Manager Tools finally reaches into the general cultural consciousness? Hmmm….we’ll see.

Enough people to fill a pro basketball arena. I always have to visualize large numbers of people like that. That’s a lot of people! Well done on having the BEST management resource around. It’s no surprise.

Mark & Mike - I’ve been listening almost since the beginning, and I love the advice. Every week you have interesting and valuable things to say. You’re the best, congratulations on this huge milestone.

I love Jeff’s analogy. Imagine 20,000 Manager Tools members in a basketball arena; we could take over the world!
Congrats on the milestone Mike and Mark. Thank you so much for this amazing resource.
And to think, there are certainly listeners that have never registered (although there’s no reason not to). That means there are even more of us.
Proud to be member #55!

k1w1onoe,
Log in…click on Discussion Forums…and at the top of the page you’ll find Memberlist. Click it…and start searching. Surely, there’s a shortcut…but I don’t have it!
M & M,
Congrats on hitting 20,000! I’m a longtime member and fan…and wish the two of you continued success and blessings!

Allie-
Thanks for the kind words, and for helping a fellow member! I don’t think there’s a great shortcut, but here’s something to try. First, you’ll need a post, at least one, in the forums. Log in, and make one.
Then, you have to log out of the forums. This way, you can look at your profile and find your joined date. (If you’re logged in, your joined date doesn’t show up - it assumes you want to MODIFY your own profile.)
Go to search, type in your username for author, and then when you get to any of the posts you’ve written, click on the link that will show you your profile. That will give you your joined date.
THEN, go to memberlist, make sure “Joined Date” and “Ascending” are chosen, and use your joined date to quickly determine which page you’re on (rather than going through each page looking for your name on the entire page.) Once you’ve found the page for your day, or near to it, find your membername…and to the left of it is your member number.
We make a good team.
Mark

Dave brings up a great point. I listened for a few months before registering. Not really sure why I waited. I’ll be here to help welcome the 50,000th member. That’s for sure. Thanks for all you do.

Congratulations! You have a way to go before MT membership plateaus. Unfortunately, most companies don’t provide much business skills training. MT is huge asset for those of us who want to be more polished. Thanks!

I agree, I’m predicting a plateau around 7 billion people.
Not that you guys aren’t great, but I can’t see you going much beyond this.

Thanks, Quentin … looks like we’ll just need to work a bit harder. Thanks for setting the bar high for us!

Managers Tools give great advice, even for a rank and file IT worker like me!
If my former employer (a Forture 100 company) would have followed it I wouldn’t have quit last month.
