Just finished all three casts in a row – they were great, thanks!. Ironically, I have spent the whole day helping a friend reorganize a presentation for her senior leadership and it was due the next day! During my coaching I mentioned SWOT –I decided to update my iPod during a break and there it was! Fantastic timing for us. Unfortunately I could not find the slides for her. Hopefully we can access those soon. Thanks again for another great set of casts.

Mark / Mike, you talked about a presentation sample. I cant find it in the Tools List, is it available?

Mark and Mike, this series is addressing a very useful topic. I have been surprised at the way strategy is apparently “done” in other companies, because I have only seen SWOT done so far as brainstorming, in a single meeting, without much preparation.

When you treat a subject this broad separated into steps and in practice describe parts that belong to other steps because you stumble upon them during your conversation, here is what happens: I have difficulties following the line of the arguments. I remember less than when it would have been more strictly in order. I need to listen at least twice to get the message.

There have been long series of steps described before, like in the resume casts. I found those casts to be easier to grasp than this series.

Hi, The SWOT Podcast was good but when will you post the samples?

  8. colincochran Says:

Cannot wait to implement this process - I got much needed clarity on the topic of “Strategy”.
Can’t wait for the materials - save me from recreating from my notes.

    Keep up the great work,

Great podcast & great content. I’ve been looking for this type of information for quite some time now: marketing books are only describing the SWOT graph as a result and NOT giving a hint on how to get there.
The fact you are saying we, inside the company, have value making such SWOT process and that we will produce quality result is refreshing and feels good to hear :) So many companies are only trusting outside consultants and counting internal resources as less value.
Thanks from France and keep up the good work!

As usual - these 3 sessions were very informative. We are about to start our SWOT and this information will come in handy. When will you post the tools mentioned in the podcast. I need all the help I can get.
Thanks providing so much help and information.

    Mark and Mike,
I just wanted to say thanks for this process. I work for a emergency humanitarian organisation based in Sudan and I just implemented this process with my teams. It was brilliant as we had complete buy in on the strategy by the end of the week, a solid understanding of where we are and great participation from all of my direct reports. Thanks to these processes we will be able to increase our focus and therefore quality of programming, and at the end of the day assist more people.
Thanks and please keep it up!

    John-

Glad it helped, PARTICULARLY for the work you’re doing there. We are thankful that we are serving your important work in some small way.

We’ll be at this for a long long time - for you!

    Mark
