Thanks Stephen… And So Many Others!
January 11th, 2007Stephen Morison asked a question about my book* today on the forums, and my answer ended up being my 1,000th post on the forums. Thanks Stephen.
[And thanks to Kaspar for informing me of the milestone.]
[Mike is the second most prolific poster on the forums, with 155 posts, and a special tip of the hat to PierGiorgio of Italy who is third with 133. Forza Azzurri!]
I literally could not have done it without you, our listeners and members. Mike and I are talking about how to reward those members who really contribute to the community, and this celebratory moment will speed up those discussions. We appreciate the time you spend with us, and are glad so many of you GET value from our work, and CREATE value for others.
I’d be happy to get to 2,000 in half the time it took to get here!

Mark — CONGRATS!!!! I for one cannot wait to add your book to my library and to buy it for every manager that I know (especially the ones that I work for). You (and Mike) are truly phenomenal and the absolutely best resource for managers and executives. I wish you all the continued success. Cheers, Trent

Congratulations! I can’t wait to read it and then pass it on to everyone I know. I look forward to such a great resource. I already know it will blow all of us away.

Mark, you are doing an excellent job!
I hope that someone will translate your book to other languages, so almost everyone can read it.

Awesome, I am looking forward to reading it as well!
What sides of management does it cover? Did you focus in on something or did you give more of a general discussion of a wide spectrum of things, with the manager tools steps of course?
You have probably already had some discussion of this somewhere on the site. If so where is it so I can check it out.
thanks again for what you guys are doing.

Thanks folks.
The book is management 101. A lot of it will be very familiar to Manager Tools members.
Paul, we will work on foreign translations for you if the publishers won’t.

Hi Mark,
Congratulations on both the milestones. Did you find writing hard work, or did it come natural to you ? I really hope you also put in several informative cartoon and/or pictures. To me a picture speaks a 1000 words.
In case you want to go translate your book (into Dutch) I really would be honored to check the translations. Always incredible to notice, when typing posts, how condensed the English language is compared to Dutch.

Mark:
Congratulations! Please let us know when it’s available for pre-order. I’m really excited about being able to PAY for something from you and Mike, after all I’ve gained for free in the last six months.
I am a 23 year old non-manager and have found your material exceptionally helpful in my early career. In the last six months, I have:
- Began watching my time carefully to see if it follows my priorities
- Determined my DIsC profile (high D!) and learned to relate better with non-D’s
- Determined my Boss’ DIsC profile
- Began quarterly resume updates
- Taken control of my email
- Subscribed to the Wall Street Journal
- Written a thorough self-evaluation

Thanks Tim! We’ll roll out some revenue stuff shortly.
Wish it hadn’t taken me nearly 50 years to learn this stuff. Wow… at 23!
And there will always be years and years of free….
