Special Conference Podcast
January 26th, 2007Warning, folks … this is NOT your typical Manager Tools podcast.
As you know, we announced our April Effective Manager Conference a couple of days ago. In addition to the great feedback on the conference, we’ve received a number of requests for more info, preferably in the podcast itself.
Well … we know people tune-in to Manager Tools to learn how to manage and appreciate when we get right to the heart of the matter, so to be respectful of our listeners time, we didn’t want to load-up our normal podcast with this info.
So, here it is - a special (short) podcast on the conference itself. Although I would love it if you’d listen in and hear about the conference, if you’re NOT interested in hearing about the conference, this is a podcast you can skip. I promise you won’t miss out on any of our normal management advice.

Hello Mark and Mike, I haven’t previously posted to any discussions. Therefore, I want to say first, that because of your efforts, I have a better understanding of what goes into being in a managerial position and now have the knowledge to have come to the decision that I am interested in facilitating a better working enviornment within the company that I love. I feel confidence in approaching my boss and discussing with him the ways I could diversify my job responsibilities and in the end hopefully become an even more integrated and useful employee. “Thank you very much guys” also sums up what I want to say.
Now, at this point, I don’t feel I can reasonably make it to that conference(others could probably benefit from it more than I at this point anyway), but in the future I can see myself without a doubt attending. So please keep in mind, others that don’t attend this conference will be thinking about it, and planning for it, and will attend when it’s the right time.
I listen via my iPod whenever my life allows, and my horizons are broadened or my own thoughts are corroborated with each session. I hope you are both able to continue with Manager-Tools for as long as people need direction.

This is probably not the right place to do so, but I just felt an urge to tank you two guys for all the effort. I really hope it brings something to you too.
Thank you! =)

NEVER the wrong place to praise … thanks!

To this point I had only communicated with you via snail mail. Listened to this cast yesterday morning on my way to work and thought it was a great overview. Discussed attending this conference with my boss that afternoon. She could see my enthusiasm and how much she and I both knew Manager Tools had changed me as a manager in just one month. Trying to work out some logistics as our company’s Global Sales Meeting is in NYC that same week - maybe I can split the time between the two? Again, thanks for all you do via Manager Tools.

Thanks, Terry … I hope you can work things out and we get a chance to meet!
Please let me know if I can help.

I listened to this cast knowing that a prior commitment will make it impossible for me to attend this conference. I was left with the same thought I had before I listened, only stronger: Please let them do it again so I can have a chance to attend next time.
This really sounds like a great opportunity for all that attend. I wish you and your attendees the best of luck with it.

I just registered for the conference. I can’t wait for some in-classroom MT goodness.
I recently received praise from management for some of my actions. It may be a coincidence, but I believe that the things I’ve learned from MT podcasts and forums have played a big part.
Keep up the good work.
Thanks,
- poncho
