Find Specific Shows Faster
February 4th, 2006As we’ve grown our library of shows a bit, we’ve frequently been asked “Have you done a show on [pick your favorite topic]?” I must admit, finding shows on the site is not the most user-friendly task.
Although not a complete solution, to ease the burden a bit we’ve added an Archive Index page (located on the sidebar under the heading “Archives”). Let us know whether this helps at all.

Hi Mike, the new list is very much helpful. I’ve pointed a few people to your site but they couldn’t find the show I had referenced them to so this is much better. It wasn’t a problem for people using Itunes to show the titles of the all the podcasts, but this is best for people who download from your site directly.

Hi Mike, I love the new archive page. Here’s another tip from me: I downloaded all the sessions already and I find it hard to actually find the content I search for. It would be great if you could fill the ID3-tag of the mp3-file with the title of the episode.
Anyway, keep up the great work!
Best regards,
Thomas

Thanks, Mike …
and Thomas, consider it done. Take a look at this week’s show and let me know whether the modification we made works better for you.

Thanks, Lionel … of course, I had already been thinking about it a bit because of your similar request. What I was missing until today was that you both were looking for a change to the ID3 tags, NOT the name of the file. This made it a bit easier for me.
As a matter of fact, I usually listen to the completed podcast in MusicMatch before posting it to the web … I IMMEDIATELY saw the value of the change to the ID3 tag!
Thanks again for the continuing feedback!

Hi Mike,
this is exactly what I meant, now it’s very easy to pick the right file from the harddrive without listening to the beginning of the show or referring back to your list.
Thanks for the change, love your show!
